January Blue Sky Run

I was itching to get out for a long run, after forfeiting my long run for a trip to London last weekend.

A perfect morning – blue sky, cold, but no wind.

The run took longer than it needed to. I walked to navigate around some particularly swampy puddles in the twelfth mile – and it took a while to get going again.

The last two miles were very hard – and by the end my legs were extremely sore. My thoughts kept swinging from ‘I can’t believe I’m doing this! This is amazing!’ to ‘this is so hard – how will I ever be able to add another ten miles?’

I suppose I just have to trust in the training. Running is pretty amazing; the more you try, the more you can do.
